Mammals make up the bulk of the
fossils recovered from the La Brea tar pits. It is interesting to note,
that there is an unbalnaced ratio of carnivores to herbivores. If the fossil
record were to depict what is actually living at the time, then carnivores
would make up 90% of the living species.
