Western Horse (Equus sp.)

The Western horse was one of the last species of horses that were originally native to North America. Horses originated in North America approximately fifty million years ago, and later migrated to other parts of the world.

The Western horse was as tall as a modern horse although more heavily built. The Spaniards reintroduced the horse to North America as a domesticated animal.
