Pollen Analysis
At the present time Pink Lake is covered with semi-mature to mature hardwoods with some coniferous species as well. Some such as sugar maples, beech, ironwwod, red oak, white ash, trembling aspen, white birch, elm, black ash, red maple, balsam poplar, and white cedar.
Mott and Farley-Gill conducted research on Pink Lake and divided the sediments from the lake into 9 pollen zones. The data collected tells the history of the vegetation growth of the lake. |
