Nothosaurs

 

The first Nothosaurs came in the early Triassic. These elongate reptiles, had large paddle-like limbs which they used for swimming. Nothosaurs had long necks with small skulls, and jaws with long teeth, which they used to catch fish .
Nothosaurs dwelled in the ocean margin, pursuing fish in the shallows. They were also the ancestors of plesiosaurs, which essentially were modified and larger Nothosaurs.
