Placodonts
 
 

Placodonts were cousins of Nothosaurs and made their first appearance in the late triassic. They were similar to modern day turtles; although not related, with round flat bodies covered with armor, flipper like limbs , and large flattened teeth. They may have lived more like modern walruses, swimming down to the bottom of shallow water to dig up brachiopods.
