EARLIEST TETRAPOD RECORD
The first tetrapod fossil remains were found in the Frasnian stage of the Upper Devonian.
The only abundant skeletal remains were found in the 1930's in the Famennian red beds of East Greenland (Jarvik 1980)
These remains were skulls and postcranial material of three genera
