Biotopes
The Nearshore-Muddy Biotope:
Occurs in the smaller lagoon basins and in the protected
inshore basins. Fine sand and silt sediment prevail. It is similar to the
Sandy Substrate Biotope, but the alga Penicillus is
more abundant and the coral Oculina and turriform
gastropods are common elements. It forms deeper parts of all protected
inshore basins.
