Agnostids were among the smallest
trilobites found. They were commonly found in Cambrian rock. Agnostides
became extinct by the end of Ordovician. They had a characteristic
isopygous body (pygidium and cephalon are equal in size). They were
blind and had widespread geographical distribution. These facts
suggested that they were freely
floating organism in the open ocean.
