STEGOSAUR EVOLUTION

Kentrosaurus (kentro - prickly) is the only member of a monophyletic subclade within stegosauridae family. Kentrosaurus shares all the characteristics of Dacentrurus but it has an increase in the height of the neural arch of the back and tail vertebrae as well as having plate-like osteoderms on its neck and frontal region of its trunk.
