| Brown algae Phyllothallus latifrons Rothpletz. This fossil may also have been carried into the lagoon. The main evidence is because of the rock that it is still attached to. In modern times algae similar to this one would be destroyed only a few hours after it died and especially during transportation. This indicates that it was not transported very far or disturbed further after transportation (modified from Barthel et. al., 1990). |
