Sauropods had two basic tooth types and arrangements. Most sauropods had blunt peg like teeth located at the front of their jaws. These teeth were weak and not designed for chewing. Instead vegetation was pulled off the trees and swallowed whole to be digested with the help of the gastroliths. Shown here is the skull of Diplodocus, a common Jurassic Sauropod.
