The large eyes of Velociraptor indicates that they located their prey visually. The skull attached to the neck at a highly mobile joint that allowed rapid and precise head movements which supports the evidence that they were visual hunters. In Velociraptor the eyes were positioned in a forward-looking position, probably giving the animal a degree of stereoscopic vision (crossing over of the range of vision of each eye to give a clearer picture) which would have helped the animal to locate its prey.
