Lobe-fish were not necessarily designed for land travel.
Disadvantages
- fish carry eight digits and were multijointed therefore useless for walking on land
- the two bones in the forearm are different lengths therefore the arm was not designed to support the animal
- the wrists were feeble
Advantages
- they developed a means to breath air
- lobe fins acted well as paddles
