To say that there were no bioturbators in the limestones is technically incorrect, there were none in the lagoon itself but there were some on the edges of the lagoon. One example is this Lumbricaria intestinum Goldfuss. You can see why it was named intestinum, because it looks like the intestines of a larger animal. The width of the fossil is a maximum of 102 mm in diametre (modified from Barthel et. al., 1990).
