ROCKLIFFE GROUP

The Rockliffe Formation of the Middle Ordovician is interbedded quartz sandstone and shale, with limestone and silty dolostone in its upper layer; its upper contact is disconformable with the lower limit of the Shadow Lake Formation. This light gray to greenish gray stone contains coarse grained interbeds which show crossbedding, desiccation cracks, ripple marks, flute casts and burrows.
