Juveniles

There is evidence suggesting young Maiasaurs remained in their nest and were cared for by their parents. First of all, the pattern and rate of weight gain in larger animals when extended to hatchlings would imply that baby Maiasaurs remained in the nest about 60 days. Secondly, undeveloped bone surfaces on the tiniest young showed that hatchlings were not equipped to travel or to fend for themselves soon after birth.
