The Pleistocene Age:
The Pleistocene is thought to have had a climate which
was similar to our climate.
Scientists examine:
- Difference between fossil plant
types compared to modern examples
- Differences in sediment emplaced
from the past to the type of sediment which is now being presently laid
down
- Differences among types of animals
which are fossilized compared to the animals which are present in our modern
time
- Differences between ancient and
modern forms of the same species, which are key to living in a particular
environment
Geologists and paleontologists interpret the above types
of data to recreate a typical landscape, geography, and environment which
may have produced the factors which are recorded.
