MARINE MICROPALAEONTOLOGICAL METHODS

Since most to the older archaeological sites(Charles type and older) have been covered by the rising sea, it is possible to use marine foraminifera to help interpret the time of sea-level rise, the change in seawater salinity and the change in water circulation through Montague Harbour.

Marine Foraminifera

Cribroelphidium foraminosum(cushman,1939)X 130
C. foraminosum (indicative of low-salinity environments) were used to help interpret the paleo-ocean environment in the Harbour.
