Phylogenetic Analysis

The phylogenetic analysis theory was created after cladistics became an accepted practice. Cladistics emphasized the discovery of patterns over processes. This led to a sense of form over function. It also involves the belief that a precise understanding of phylogeny has to go with explanations of functional evolution.

Cladistics influenced the development of the phylogenetic analysis theory.
