This is a view of the Cathedral from a ship in the harbour. The Cathedral was the one building in St. Pierre that only suffered minor damage from the 1902 eruptions. It is located several kilometres away from the other structures that received the most damage. The path of the block and ash flow was diverted down through the valley of the Riviere Blanche, which is in the opposite direction of the Cathedral.
