Structure and Appearance
It is probable that Archaeopteryx was not a strong flyer, but a very successful glider.

It is thought that Archaeopteryx was a good climber and spent much of its life in the trees, with most of its flying done over short distances from branch to branch. Wings allowed it to move from tree to tree without descending to the ground. The body plumage also helped to regulate body temperature.
