Psittacosaurus -described by Osborn, 1923 (Dodson, 1996). Known as the "Parrot Dinosaur", as many as 7 species of Psittacosaurus are recognized from the Lower Cretaceous of Eastern Asia (Dodson, 1996). Until recently, Psittacosaurus was allied with the ornithopods, however, analysis of their excellent fossil record now supports their identification as the earliest ceratopsian (Dodson, 1996).
