Squid and Octopus
Reef Squid. Total length to 30 cm, including tentacles. Fins extend along the entire length of the mantle. Commonly seen in schools in inshore waters and on reefs; often approaching close to skin divers.
Common Octopus. Total length to one meter, including arms,
but usually smaller. Inhabits burrows in rocky areas with rubble during
the day; forages at night on grass flats. Burrows can often be located
by piles of mollusc shells. Inshore and on reefs.
