The Esso tank farm is located next to the biostation. In this area there are will-developed, terra-rosa paleosols between three units of eolianites, the youngest is the Southampton Formation.

The red paleosols are seen here infilling the karsted limestone, at the esso tank farm. These soil horizons are distinct and are generally easy to point out.
