St-Dominique Lithology

The stratigraphic column below (Prichonnet) of St-Dominique exposes all of the Champlain Sea facies.  Because this site is located to the north of the boundary discussed on the previous page, it is not surprising to see that there is not a proglacial lake facies included at the base of the column.  This column provides us with an important understanding of the Champlain Sea basin, as its basal unit probably corresponds to the first contact between marine waters and the ice margin.
